A 49-year-old Jamestown man was charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana on August 18, 2018 following a routine traffic stop.


According to New York State Troopers, a vehicle in which Duane Sikes was the passenger was pulled over for committing a traffic violation on Route 60 in Gerry. While speaking to the occupants, the Troopers smelled marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. The occupants and vehicle were searched and Sikes was found to be in possession of five marijuana cigarettes and a bag containing marijuana. 


The driver was issued a traffic ticket and Sikes was issued an appearance ticket. Sikes is scheduled to appear in the town of Gerry Court on a later date.
