NIAGARA UNIVERSITY ATHLETICS

KistLEWISTON, N.Y. — On Monday, the Niagara University community gathered for the 22nd Annual Ray Kist Memorial Golf Classic at the Niagara Falls Country Club.

The yearly outing honors the late Ray Kist, the head trainer at Niagara University for 16 years. Anne Kist, the wife of Ray, and several members of the Kist family once again participated in the event.

Participants enjoyed a fun day of golf, food and mingling with friends, with lunch and dinner served at the country club. All monies raised through the Kist Memorial Golf Classic directly support the student-athletes at Niagara University.

First place in the golf tournament was won by the foursome of David DeMizio, Daniel DeMizio, Marc Braun and Brendon Briskup. Second place went to Ed Warnke, Jeff Kney, Dennis Graziano and Rob McCoy, while the team of Jeff Diebel, Brett Decker, Scott Colonna and John Jablosnki finished in third.

The longest drive of the day for the men belonged to Marc Brown, who won the contest on the first hole. On 10th hole, the ladies’ longest drive was hit by Anne Gray. In the closest to the pin contests, Jon Schultz landed nearest to the cup on the seventh green, while Chris Ross was the closest on the 18th.

Niagara Athletics would like to thank all of the sponsors, participants and volunteers for their help and support.
