UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Fresh off their second straight Mid-American title, the Tennis Recruiting Network believes that the University at Buffalo women’s tennis team is primed for more success as they have ranked the incoming recruiting class as sixth nationally amongst mid-major programs.  This is the first time that UB has made this list.

The Bulls are adding two players for the upcoming season, both with UTR ratings over 10.0.  Pia Schwarz from Germany has a UTR ranking of 10.81, while Nikoleta Antoniou Karademitro from Greece has a UTR of 10.32.
These rankings are comparable to current top players on the Bulls, including returning All-MAC First Team selection Chantal Martinez Blanco, who has a UTR ranking of over 10.0.
“This is a very exciting moment for our program to see the hard work on the recruiting trail pay off,” said head coach Kristen Ortman Maines.  “I have to give a lot of credit to Sma [McNerney] for her hard work in helping to find these players and we can’t wait to have them on campus this Fall.”
Buffalo is the only team from the Mid-American Conference to make the Top 25 recruiting list.
