LEXINGTON, Ky.—The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its all-region teams and Buffalo State’s Danielle Szymkowiak (Cheektowaga/Cheektowaga) was selected to the All-Northeast second team.
Szymkowiak, a senior business administration major, was also a first team All-SUNYAC honoree as a centerfielder. She posted a .333 batting average with eight doubles, three home runs and 17 RBIs, while drawing a team-high 17 walks. She was a defensive standout as well, committing just two errors on 54 chances and had three assists. Szymkowiak finished her four-year career with a .299 batting average with 25 doubles, eight home runs and 71 RBIs.
Buffalo State concluded the season 11-20 overall and made its fifth-consecutive appearance in the SUNYAC playoffs.
