NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Purple Eagles baseball closed out non-conference play with a 7-5 victory over the University at Albany Wednesday.

Game Recap
- In the bottom of the second, an RBI single from Dziados put the Purple Eagles on the board. Olson cranked a two-run homer out of the park and an RBI single from Michael Gabriele gave NU a 4-0 lead over the Great Danes at the end of the inning.
- Albany scored three times in the top of the third and trailed Niagara by only one run, 4-3.
- In the bottom of the fifth frame, Julian Gallup went yard, hitting his fourth homerun of the season, to put Niagara up 5-3.
- The Great Danes picked up momentum on offense in the top of the sixth and came back to tie the score, 5-5, but the Purple Eagles were undaunted. In the bottom of the eighth, a ground-rule double from Dziados plated Greg Cullen. Trevor McCauley reached base and Darian Blanks beat the tag at home plate to give NU the 7-5 lead.
- A diving catch in center field from Gallup locked up the third out in the top of the ninth and secured the victory for the Purple Eagles.
Inside the Numbers

- Dylan Hillabush (1-0) picked up his first collegiate win on the mound and Jackson Jones earned his first career save.
