GENESEO, N.Y. — Buffalo State earned 84 of its 92.5 total points in five sprint events to race to a fourth-place finish at the SUNYAC Championships at Geneseo this weekend.

NOTABLES:
- Cody Sikora (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) was a part of two SUNYAC Championships, winning 400-meter dash with a time of 48.00 seconds, which is good for the 11th-fastest time in the nation this season. He also joined Robert Liebel (Tonawanda/Tonawanda), Parris Strickland (Rochester/Brighton) and Benjamin Fairweather (Brooklyn/Kurt Hahn Expeditionary) to claim the 4×400-meter relay in 3:19.70. Sikora added a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (22.42).
- Robert Liebel (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) led the Bengals’ dominant showing in the 200-meter dash, crossing first in 21.61 seconds. Eric Vassell (Bronx/Mt. St. Michael) was runner-up (21.87), followed by Fairweather in third (21.97), and Blaine Billings (Newburgh/Newburgh Free) in fourth (22.29).
- Four Bengals also scored in the 100-meter dash, led by Liebel in second (10.71), Vassell in third (10.86), Billings in fourth (11.02), and Elijah Lawal (Duanesburg/Duanesburg) in seventh (11.27).
- Buffalo State’s 4×100-meter relay of Lawal, Liebel, Strickland and Vassell crossed second in 41.98 seconds.
- T.J. Kmitch (Derby/Lake Shore) was fourth in the decathlon with 5,426 points, and Cooper Schiavo(Smithtown/Smithtown West) finished fifth in the high jump (1.85m).
- Fairweather was also sixth in the 400-meter dash (49.58).
