WASHINGTON, D.C. — Michael Caputo, a former communications adviser to the Donald Trump presidential campaign, told members of the Senate Intelligence Committee committee today that the high costs of his legal fees in relation to the Russia investigations may make him leave Western New York, according to The Hill.
Caputo, a resident of East Aurora, has been publicly venting about the costs of his multiple trips to Washington to speak with the House Intelligence Committee, Senate Intelligence Committee, and Senate Judiciary Committee. Caputo reiterated to the Senate Intelligence Committee that he expects his costs to reach $125,000, a figure he also stated Thursday night on “Here’s the Thing” on All WNY Radio.
Meanwhile, Caputo is also considering leaving Western New York as a means of recouping his costs: “Now I must to move back to Washington, New York City, Miami or elsewhere, just so I can make enough money to pay off these legal bills. And I know I have you to thank for that,” Caputo said, according to CNN.
Caputo also reportedly told the committee “God damn you to Hell,” according to numerous sources, expressing his frustration over the multiple investigations.
Prior to working on the Trump campaign, he worked for Jack Kemp’s presidential run, was Carl Paladino’s campaign manager and had also worked on Boris Yeltsin’s election efforts in Russia — part of the reasoning for his attendance at the investigating bodies.
