EDGEWATER, N.J. — The Niagara Purple Eagles cruised to a 7-0 victory over the Saint Peter’s Peacocks on Sunday.
 

Match Summary

  • The Purple Eagles made quick work of the Peacocks, dropping only five games in the six doubles and singles matches played.
  • Niagara’s No. 1 doubles team of Stella Peisakhova and Andreea Peteu cruised to a 6-0 win, while the No. 2 team of Chhinda Som and Ali Hutchinson won its match, 6-1.
  • In singles, Niagara won all four matches played (Saint Peter’s defaulted in No. 5 and 6 singles).
  • Ali Hutchinson, playing in the three spot, won in straight sets.
  • Shannon Wong won 6-0, 6-1 in four singles.  
  • Peteu won her match 6-0, 6-1.
  • Peiskahova defeated Stephanie Falcon, 6-0, 6-1, in No. 1 singles.


Purple Points

  • Andreea Peteu collected her team-leading 13th win of the season to improve to 4-2 in league play.
  • Shannon Wong won her fifth straight match to improve to 5-1 in MAAC matches. She won her 11th overall match of the season.
  • Stella Peisakhova and Ali Hutchinson won their 11th and ninth match, respectively.
  • The doubles pairings of Stella Peisakhova/ Andreea Peteu and Ali Hutchinson/Chhinda Som both improved to 4-1 in MAAC matches.
