A 56 year old Gerry man was charged Insurance Fraud 4th degree and making a false written statement on April 3rd, 2018.

According to SP Jamestown Troopers, they responded to a residence in Gerry for a report of a burglary and interviewed Hancock who stated two hunting bows and a shotgun were missing from his garage. Investigation revealed that Hancock had actually sold the items months prior and collected $2,100.00 from the insurance claim.

Hancock was arrested at SP Jamestown, processed, and issued appearance tickets directing him to appear in the town of Gerry Court later in the month.
