UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO ATHLETICS

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The University at Buffalo men’s tennis senior doubles team of Petr Vodak and Vidit Vaghela were named the Mid-American Conference Doubles Team of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Vodak and Vaghela won their lone match of the week as they came away with a 6-3 win at first doubles against Harvard’s top team of Kenny Tao and Logan Weber, 6-3. That pair was ranked 70th nationally in doubles.  It was the only match finished this week for Vaghela and Vodak, who didn’t finish their match earlier in the week against Cornell.  The Harvard Crimson were ranked No. 27 nationally when the Bulls met them.
This is the second time in the last three weeks that Vodak and Vaghela have earned the doubles team of the week honor and it is the third straight week overall that UB has earned doubles team of the week as Ethan Nittolo and Hao Sheng Koay earned those honors last week.
Head coach Lee Nickell on Wednesday also announced changes to the UB weekend schedule.  The Bulls will still head to Columbia on Friday for an afternoon match against Columbia.  Buffalo well then host Monmouth on Saturday afternoon at 1pm at Miller Tennis Center.
UB’s conference match against Binghamton originally scheduled for Sunday afternoon has been moved to Friday, April 6 at 4pm at the Miller Tennis Center.  It will be the second part of a doubleheader with the UB women’s tennis team.
