NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Purple Eagles softball team heads to Ohio to play a doubleheader with Cleveland State on Wednesday, March 28 at 3:00 p.m.


Last Time Out
  • The Purple Eagles competed in the Homewood Suites by Hilton RDU/RTP Challenge in Raleigh, N.C. March 23-25.
  • Niagara dropped a game to Kennesaw State, 6-5, two games to NC State (9-1, 9-7) and one game to Marist, 5-3, before defeating Marist 9-1 in the final game of the tournament.

On the Field: Niagara Purple Eagles (6-17)
  • Jennifer Timm and Kelsey Harrigan lead the Purple Eagles in hits with 18 each.
  • Jerri Ann Orfano leads the teams in RBIs with 20 and also has a team-high five homeruns on the season so far.
  • Kendall Watkins leads Niagara in runs scored with 17 and is second in RBIs with 14.
  • In the circle, Sierra Bertrand (3-5) leads the Purple Eagle pitching staff with 29 strikeouts and an ERA of 4.17.
  • Karsen Cotton (2-6) has struck out 23 batters in a team-high 48.1 innings pitched.

On the Field: Cleveland State Vikings (9-16)
  • Mel Woodard leads the Vikings with 24 hits, 10 runs scored and a .369 batting average.
  • Riley Ries leads the team in RBIs with 19.
  • In the circle, Mackenzie Joecken (5-5) leads the Viking pitching staff with 34 strikeouts in 47.1 innings pitched.
