JAMESTOWN — A 21-year-old Erie, Pa. man was charged Saturday with driving while ability impaired by drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on I-86.

According to New York State Police, Matthew Ebach was pulled over for speeding and while speaking to Ebach, the Troopers observed marijuana evidence in plain view. A search of Ebach’s vehicle revealed 24 grams of marijuana, two bongs containing marijuana residue and just under three grams of psilocybin. Ebach was placed under arrest subsequent to the location of the drug evidence and upon failure of SFSTs. Ebach was evaluated at SP Jamestown by a New York State Police Drug Recognition Expert, processed, and released with tickets directing him to appear in the town of Ellicott Court on a later date.
