ALMOND — A 24-year-old Wellsville man is facing charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance after police found him with pharmaceuticals for which he had no prescription.

According to New York State Police, Brandon J. Murray was stopped on State Route 21 for an inadequate muffler. Upon interview of the driver and passenger, conflicting stories were reported.  Further investigation lead to Murray being found in possession of a controlled substance for which he had no prescription.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and processed at the Amity Troopers’ barracks before being released on tickets returnable to the Village of Almond Court on on Monday.
