BUFFALO — Buffalo used timely hitting and a great start by T.J. House to win 4-0 in front of sold out Star Wars Night crowd, Saturday at Coca-Cola Field

House put together a strong outing for the Herd, not allowing a run and striking out five through six innings of work to earn his fifth win, improving his record to 5-4 on the year. He was matched up against White Sox pitcher James Shields who was on a rehab assignment.

The Bisons got it going early, started by a lead off single for Ian Parmley. Jake Elmore laid down a sacrifice bunt that was dropped by the Knights first baseman, which resulted both runners being safe. Next batter, Dwight Smith Jr. grounded to first base and Danny Hayes made his second error of the inning by missing his target and throwing the ball into left field. The play allowed Parmley to score, and Elmore advance to third. Rowdy Tellez stepped to the plate and brought home the run with a sacrifice fly to left, giving the Herd an early 2-0 lead in the first.

Parmley kept it going in the third with another base knock. He then took second with no throw to earn his ninth steal and advance into scoring position. Dwight Smith Jr. delivered the two-out RBI with a base hit up the middle to extend the Herd’s early advantage 3-0.

Shane Opitz lead off the fifth with a double to the left field corner, followed by a walk issued to Jonathan Diaz. Parmley advanced the runners with a sacrifice bunt. Elmore then hit a grounder to Knights second baseman Yoan Moncada, who tried to get the runner breaking for the plate but was not in time, tallying another for the Bisons.
