STAFF REPORTS

BUFFALO — Explore Buffalo has a new offering well outside city limits — at Knox Farm in East Aurora — on July 13.

The tour group invites patrons to enjoy “a beautiful Buffalo summer evening and learn the history of the Knox family’s farm and summer home! The Friends of Knox Farm will open the farm’s buildings which are seldom open to the public, and Explore Buffalo docents will be inside each building providing you a tour and the stories associated with each site. Tour the Main Houses, the Polo Stables where the polo ponies were kept, sheep barns, gardener’s cottage, and many other historical buildings.”

The self-guided tour allows patrons to go at their own pace with enough time to enjoy both the buildings and the park. The park itself is open to the public, but entrance into the buildings will be restricted to ticketed guests.

Patrons are encouraged to “bring your family and friends, pack a picnic, and make an evening out of it. If a picnic is not in your plans, the Village of East Aurora provides ample restaurants, some within walking distance of the park, for dinner before or after the tour.”
