PITTSFORD — Freshman Darren Thompson (Buffalo/St. Joe’s) won the 100-meter dash and was runner-up in the 200 to lead Buffalo State today at the non-team scoring St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic.

Thompson won the 100-meter dash in 11.18 seconds and was second in the 200 (22.60). Kevin Murnock (East Aurora/East Aurora) was a runner-up in the 10,000-meter run (34:59.61), and Austin Becker (Broadalbin/Broadalbin-Perth) was second in the 800-meter run (1:55.58). Cody Sikora (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) was third in the 200-meter dash (22.87). Sikora and Becker joined Chris Duhaney (Hempstead/Uniondale) and Phil Giuga (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) to cross second in the 4×400-meter relay (3:21.53). Sachar Williams (Rochester/East) was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (58.19), while James Willard (Albany/Albany) was fifth in the 200-meter dash (22.30). Nick Miller (Hamburg/St. Francis) placed sixth in the 100-meter dash (11.59), and Cody Lambert (Kenmore/Kenmore West) was sixth in the long jump (6.96m).

Buffalo State will compete in the SUNYAC Championships next Friday and Saturday at Cortland.
