BUFFALO — The Mid-American Conference announced its women’s tennis postseason honors on Wednesday afternoon and Tanja Stojanovska was named to the All-MAC First Team, while Chantal Martinez Blanco was named to the All-MAC Second Team.
2017 marks the third straight year that Stojanovska has earned first-team honors, the only member of the six-person first team to do so. Stojanovska enters the upcoming tournament with an 18-11 singles record, including an 8-6 mark at first singles. She was nearly unbeatable in doubles as she went 23-6 with partner Margarita Kotok, including a 13-3 mark at first doubles.
Martinez Blanco was named to the All-MAC Second Team for the second straight season as she enters this weekend with a 19-11 record and an 8-6 mark at second singles, while also going 3-2 at first singles this year. Martinez Blanco was also extremely successful in doubles this year as she registered a 13-4 mark at second doubles with her partner Anna Savchenko. In all, Martinez Blanco is 17-7 overall in doubles action.
The Bulls will begin MAC Tournament play on Friday afternoon as the #3 seed when they face #6 Western Michigan in the MAC Quarterfinals at 3pm.
