JERSEY CITY, N.J. – The Niagara Purple Eagles won their second straight conference match with a 6-1 win over the Saint Peter’s Peacocks on Saturday.

Niagara won all three doubles matches to pick up the point. In one doubles, Sharlee Deshmukh and Shannon Wong edged Saint Peter’s Lucia Radovic and Elena Puigventos, 7-5, to improve to 3-1 in MAAC matches. The team of Sansriti Ranjan and Ali Hutchinson earned its third conference win of the season with a 6-3 win in two doubles. In three doubles, Stella Peisakhova and Jasmin Vargas won 6-2 for Vargas’ first-ever collegiate win. In singles, Niagara won five of the six matches. Peisakhova defeated Lucia Radovic, 7-6(3), 6-2, in No. 1 singles. Sansriti won her eighth match of the season when she defeated Elena Puigventos in straight sets in No. 2 singles. Wong cruised to a straight set win to improve to 4-2 in conference matches. Deshmukh and Hutchinson each won their respective match in straight sets.

Niagara wraps up the regular season at Siena on Sunday.
