MIAMI, Fla. — The University at Buffalo track and field team finished competition at the Miami Hurricane Alumni Invitational. The team had an overall outstanding performance that left them with several Top-Ten finishes and a new school record.

Gyasi Morris, Joshua Gali, Brian Cummiskey, and Mitchell Moore worked together to finish the men’s 4X400m relay in 3:09.56. This time was a first place finish and set a new school record. Also coming in first place was Miranda Daucher. Daucher threw to a distance of 51.44m (168′ 9″) in the women’s discus for first place. Not far behind was teammate Jess Dhaliwall who came in third with a distance of 46.24m (157′ 8″).

Three Bulls had second place finishes. Devon Patterson threw for a distance of 17.97m (58′ 11.5″) in the men’s shot put; Mikayla Pearce jumped to a distance of 6.08m (19′ 11.5″) in the women’s long jump; and Joanna Hallisy threw to a distance of 13.14m (43′ 1.5″) in the women’s shot put. Also performing well in the men’s shot put was James Hanners, who threw to a distance of 15.74m (51′ 7.75″) for fifth place. Kailyn Arcury placed fifth in the women’s long jump after jumping to a distance of 5.68m (18′ 7.75″).

Martine Bye and Selina Von Jackowski completed the women’s heptathlon at the competition today. Bye finished in third place overall with a total score of 4,936 after placing second in the javelin with a distance of 38.12m (125′ 4″). Von Jackowski placed fourth after taking second in the long jump and third in the 800m. She finished with an overall score of 4932.

The Bulls saw three more third place finishes and two fourth place finishes. Joshua Gali clocked in at 47.15 in the men’s 400m for third; Sam Wray threw for a distance of 50.18m (164′ 7″) in the men’s discus for third; and Mitchell Moore finished the 400H with a time of 52.56 for third. Ryan Billian and the men’s 4X100 relay team of Brian Cummiskey, Gali, Moore, and Billian finished fourth in their respective events. Billian jumped to a distance of 7.11m (23′ 4″) in the men’s long jump, and the 4X100 relay team clocked in at 40.99.

The Bulls are back in action April 14 and the Bison Open.
