HELLERTOWN, Pa. — Canisius freshman David Hanes shot a five-over par of 77 to lead the Golden Griffins, as the Blue and Gold returned to action Sunday in the first round of the 2017 Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Invite at Silver Creek Country Club.
As a team, Canisius posted a team score of 327, which ranks 19th in the field of 19 teams.UConn shot a team score of 295 to hold a lead in the team event after 18 holes.
Hanes’ 77 puts him in a tie for 38th. Sophomore John Dantonio shot an 81 on Sunday. He is tied for 72nd. Colgate’s Alejandro Soto shot a three-under score of 69 to end the first round as the individual leader.
The second and final round of the Coca-Cola Lehigh Valley Invite will tee-off Monday morning at 10 a.m.
