BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo women’s tennis team will begin their Mid-American Conference season at home on Friday as the Bulls host Akron at 1:00pm at the Miller Tennis Center in Williamsville.

The Bulls, who were picked as the preseason favorites in the MAC, are 6-5 on the season after a pair of matches in Charleston, SC last weekend. UB is led by junior Tanja Stojanovska, who won three of her four matches, including both singles matches during the Spring Break trip.

Akron enters Friday’s match as one of the hotter teams in the nation as the Zips are 18-2 on the season and have won 17 straight matches including six 7-0 sweeps in their last eight matches.  Akron is already 2-0 in league play with wins over Toledo and Eastern Michigan.

Following Friday’s match, the Bulls will continue league play on Sunday at Ball State.

The Miller Tennis Center is located at 5959 Sheridan Dr, Williamsville, NY 14221.
