Buffalo State’s Connor Mergler (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) was named the SUNYAC Male Swimmer of the Year for the second-consecutive year after repeating as an All-American.

The junior business major was a three-time SUNYAC Champion for the second-straight season, capturing titles in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events and also was third and fourth respectively in the 400 and 200 freestyle relay.  Mergler then moved on to the NCAA Division III Championships in Shenandoah, Texas and garnered All-America honors when he placed eighth in the 100 free.  He also earned top-20 finishes in the 50 and 200 free events at the national championship meet.

Mergler is now a four-time All-American and owns seven individual and relay school records.
