SHENANDOAH, Texas — Buffalo State’s Connor Mergler (E. Amherst/Williamsville North) wrote the final chapter of the Buffalo State swimming and diving season in style today, closing out the year earning All-America honors in the 100 free at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships at the Conroe Independent School District Natatorium.
Mergler clocked his fastest time of the season in the prelims, touching in 44.55 seconds to qualify for the finals with the sixth-fastest morning time. The junior then captured All-America honors this evening, finishing eighth in the finals, clocking 44.80 seconds.
Mergler was also an All-American in the same event last season when he placed fourth.
