NIAGARA FALLS — The travel advisory put into place for the City of Niagara Falls has expired as of 3 p.m., but the city is asking for a little help from residents — adhering to alternative parking schedules — as cleanup continues.
Crews will be working the next two shifts this evening to cover side streets across the city. Alternate side parking areas to be covered this evening include: Seneca to Buffalo Avenue and Hyde Park Boulevard to 11th Street. Residents should move vehicles to the cleared side of the road once plows have made their first pass to ensure proper clean up.
Mayor Paul Dyster said, “Keeping up with Winter Storm Stella has been no easy task, and after two major weather events over the last several weeks, our Department of Public Works crews should be commended. With the help of our partners at the New York State Department of Transportation, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz crews have been able to tackle main roads at an impressive pace. As we move to our side streets, we ask that residents adhere to alternative parking rules in place and appreciate their cooperation and patience as we continue to address areas in need of clean up.”
Department of Public Works crews and more than 20 pieces of equipment have been working to salt and clear roads around the clock prior to the start of Winter Storm Stella. They were assisted in their efforts with crews provided by the New York State Department of Transportation and Erie County.
