PRINCETON, NJ – The University at Buffalo men’s tennis team had their winning streak snapped on Sunday as they fell at Princeton, 6-1.

UB won at third doubles as Tony Miller and Ethan Nittolo came away with a 6-4 victory.  After a Princeton win at two, the doubles point came down to first doubles where Filip Grbic and Hao Sheng Koay gave it everything they had against the 13th ranked team in the country before falling just shy, 7-5.

The Tigers took five of the six matches in singles as Nittolo came away with the lone win for the Bulls at six, 6-2, 0-6, 6-4.  Grbic and Petr Vodak each took their singles matches into three sets before coming up short.

“After starting the weekend playing very well against Bryant, we had a hiccup today against a very good Princeton team,” said head coach Lee Nickell. “This was our first match in a while where we didn’t compete well all the way through the lineup.  The good news is we will learn from this and go into our first MAC matches of the season ready to go.”

The Bulls will open Mid-American Conference play on March 17 when they travel to Binghamton.
