BUFFALO — After a historic performance at the 2017 MAC Championships for women’s swimming and diving, Megan Burns will be among 322 participants who will compete at the women’s Swimming and Diving NCAA Championships. The championship will be held from March 15 – March 18. This year’s hosts are Indiana University and Purdue University in Indianapolis, IN at the IU Natatorium.

Burns will compete in the 50 Free, 100 Free, and 200 Free at the NCAA Championships.

The announcement comes on the heels of Burn’s record-setting weekend where she won two individual gold medals and was a member of two gold-winning relay teams. Burns remained undefeated in the 50 Free at MAC Championships for the third year in a row, when she broke the school, meet, and conference record. Her time currently ranks tied for 21 in the nation. Burns also took the gold in the 100 Free, breaking the previous school record and ranking her tied for 23 in the nation. Burns final individual gold came in the 200 Free.

Burns was a member of the gold winning 200 Free Relay and 800 Free Relay. The team’s time in the 200 Free Relay ranks 31 in the nation, while the 800 Free Relay time ranks 42 in the nation. Both relays broke the previous school records.


The 50 Free will be on March 16. The 200 Free will be on March 17. The 100 Free will be on March 18.
