WILLIAMSVILLE — The Niagara men’s and women’s tennis teams were each defeated by the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Saturday in their MAAC opener.
The Purple Eagles men served for the match in No. 1 and 2 doubles before falling. The No. 2 team of Lukas Wenninger and Brent Boleslav was edged 7-6(4), while the No. 1 team of Felipe Fuentes and Francis Nadeau lost 7-5. NU battled in singles but dropped all six singles matches.
On the women’s side, Stella Peisakhova provided Niagara’s lone win as she defeated Quinnipiac’s No. 1 in three sets 4-6, 7-6(5), 1-0(6). Peisakhova earned her team-leading sixth singles win of the season.
