BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo track and field team completed the Zips Invite this Friday. The team saw two personal best from athletes at the competition, and finished third overall.

Justin Van Epps finished first in the men’s one mile with a new personal best time of 4:15.62. His time placed him in third place and was nearly two seconds faster than the second place finisher from Akron. Hannah Roof also hit a new personal best on the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.67m. The freshman Bulls finished sixth at the competition behind teammate Jenn Thill.

The Bulls saw several other athletes finish in the Top-Five. Samantha Hjelmar finished second in the high jump after clearing a height of 1.61m. The Bulls had three third place finishes, two fourth place finishes, and three fifth place finishes. Daniel Muldoon, Nina Zeksy, and Michael Morgan each had a third place finish in their respective events. Muldoon finished the mile in 4:19.31, Zeksy cleared a height of 1.56m in the high jump, and Morgan cleared 1.84 in the high jump. Selina Von Jackowski and Emma Siuciak placed fourth in their respective events. Von Jackowski completed the 60m dash in 7.74, while Siuciak jumped to a distance of 5.54m in the long jump. The fifth place finishes came from Amy Vilarini, Connor Spiegel, and Jenn Thill. Villarini completed the 200m in 25.52, Spiegel cleared the bar at 1.84m in the high jump, and Thill had a height of 3.67m on the pole vault.


The Bulls are back in action this Saturday as they travel to Ithaca for the Deneault Invite.
