ALLIANCE, Ohio — Mohamed Kouyate (Bronx/Dreamyard Prep) set a meet record winning the 400-meter dash to lead Buffalo State today in the non-scoring Jim Wuske Invitational at Mount Union.

Kouyate blazed to victory in the 400 with a meet-record time of 49.73 seconds, good for the 12th-best time in Division III this season entering today. Robert Liebel (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) and Cody Sikora (N. Tonawanda/N. Tonawanda) finished second (50.06) and third (50.79) respectively behind Kouyate. Chris Duhaney (Hempstead/Uniondale) was runner-up in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking 8.53 seconds. Robert Alexis (Middletown/Middletown) placed fourth in the high jump, clearing 1.88 meters. Darren Thompson (Buffalo/St. Joe’s) added a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash (23.01).

Buffalo State will visit Brockport on Saturday in the final tune-up before the SUNYAC Championships.
