Wendell Clair Silsby, age 74, entered into rest on Monday, January 2, 2017 at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport. Born September 25, 1942 in Lockport, Wendell is the son of the late Howard and Eva Mae (Klotzbach) Silsby.

Wendell is a member of the Covenant United Church of Christ in Gasport, the Gasport Chemical Hose Fire Company, serving as Commissioner of Fire District #1. He was also a member of the Niagara County Fire Chiefs Association. He loved to cook and spend time with his family. Wendell had worked at the DEC in maintenance and was a lifelong farmer.

Surviving are his children: Jeffrey (Gina) Silsby, Erica (Scott) Seib and Gary (Teri) Silsby. Stepfather of: John Kimmell and Susan Kimmel Riley. Brother of: Jane (Allen) Grehlinger, Quintin (Sandy) Silsby, Kent (Louise) Silsby and the late Lowell Silsby. Wendell is also survived by 11 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial services on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Covenant United Church, 4449 Gasport Road, Gasport, NY. Burial will be in Orangeport Cemetery.
