Elmo Rantucci of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2017, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. He was born in San Potito, Italy, on August 13, 1920, the son of the late Severino and Maria [Bruno] Rantucci.
Mr. Rantucci came to the United States in 1936. He served with the US Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was employed at Titanium and International Paper for 23 years and for 16 years with the New York State Power Authority, before retiring in 1982. Mr. Rantucci enjoyed gardening.
He was the husband of the late Angeline [Chiarella] Rantucci, who passed away in January of 2014 and father of the late Severino Rantucci. Mr. Rantucci was the brother in law of Mary (late John) Proietti, the uncle of Cheryl (Daniel) Diem and James (Lori) Proietti and the great uncle of Jeffrey Diem, Ashley (Eric) Clingersmith and Shannon Proietti. He was predeceased by a brother and a sister.
Private funeral services were held at the wishes of his family.
Entombment with Military Honors was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
