The Niagara University women’s basketball team will host Quinnipiac at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gallagher Center.

The Purple Eagles dropped a tough conference contest to the Siena Saints, 71-53, on Monday. Tiffany Corselli led the Purple Eagles in scoring with 14 points. Corselli also brought down five rebounds. Victoria Rampado led Niagara in rebounding with nine total rebounds. Kaylee Stroemple added 11 points and six rebounds for the Purple Eagles. Jamie Sherburne had a team-best four assists, tying her season-high.

Redshirt-junior forward Rampado leads the Purple Eagles in scoring with 16.4 points per game and in rebounding with 8.2 rebounds per game. Rampado leads the MAAC in rebounding and is third in scoring. Junior forward Stroemple and senior guard Corselli also average in double figure scoring. Stroemple averages 11.3 points per game and Corselli averages 10.5 points per game. Stroemple has the fourth-best field goal percentage in the MAAC; she is 58-for-107 for a percentage of 54.2. Freshman guard Baughman is second in the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage (41.7%). Niagara leads the MAAC in 3-point field goal percentage; the team is 82-for-231 (35.5%).

The Purple Eagles next host the Marist Red Foxes on Saturday before heading back out on the road to face Iona on Jan. 13 and Manhattan on Jan. 15.
