The Blue Jays continue to concentrate on the left side of the mound, signing lefty Jeff Beliveau to a minor league contract on Wednesday.

Beliveau, 29, has made 59 career reliever appearances in the Major Leagues, debuting with the Chicago Cubs in 2012 and spending parts of three seasons with the Tampa Bay Rays, 2013-2015. Overall, he is 1-0 with a 4.00 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 45.0 career big league innings. Last season, the southpaw pitched in 31 games between Single-A Frederick and Double-A Bowie in the Orioles chain (4-0, 2.54 ERA). His season was delayed until May in a return from a torn left labrum that limited him to just 2.2 innings of work in 2015.

Beliveau was originally drafted by the Cubs in the 18th round of the 2008 June Amateur Draft. He is the third southpaw signed by the Blue Jays this month, joining Brett Oberholtzer and T.J. House.
