Megan Burns and Charles Barry have been named as UB’s Athletes of the Week.

Burns had a stellar performance at the Zippy Invitational this past weekend. Burns opened up the weekend by breaking the school, MAC, meet, and pool record in the 50 Free. Burns clocked in at 22.11, beating second place by over .70 seconds. Burns was also a part of the second place 200 Free Relay team; finishing her lap in 22.23, helping the team to a 1:30.96 time.

Burns also finished first in the 200 and 100 Free with times of 1:47.21 (meet record) and 48.57, respectively. Burns was also a member of the 800 Free Relay team that broke the meet record with a time of 7:21.04. She was a member of the second place 400 Free Relay team; finishing with a time of 3:22.18.

Barry swam well for the Bulls. The senior started the weekend off with a second place finish in the 500 Free with a time of 4:28.34. Barry also placed second in the 400 IM, clocking in at 3:55.31.

Barry blew the competition away in the 1650 Free. He finished with a time of 15:29.62, breaking the meet and pool record.
