WIRT — New York State Police charged a 37-year-old Friendship man with driving while intoxicated Wednesday following a crash on Hassard Road.

According to New York State Police, Troopers were called to a domestic disturbance. Once there, they leared that Lance F. Green had left the residence prior to patrol’s arrival and had subsequently crashed his vehicle on Hassard Road in the Town of Wirt and fled the scene. Green was located shortly thereafter.

While Green was being interviewed, the odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. He failed field sobriety tests and was transported to SP Amity for processing where he refused to submit to a chemical test.

Green was previously convicted of driving while intoxicated within the prior 10 years, making his current charge a felony. He was arraigned before the Town of Wirt Court and remanded to the Allegany County Jail in lieu of $2,000 cash/$4,000 bond and is scheduled to reappear before The Town of Wirt Court on Dec. 21.
