CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Purple Eagles earned their first road win of the season on Wednesday afternoon with a commanding victory over Cleveland State.

The first quarter was a defensive battle between the Purple Eagles and the Vikings and ended with Niagara ahead by one point, 12-11. The Purple Eagles began to pull away from the Vikings in the second quarter. Morgan Baughman sank a three with a little under eight minutes remaining to keep Niagara in the lead, 17-11. Corselli hit two threes within four minutes to give Niagara a comfortable lead, 27-18. As time expired in the second quarter, Kaylee Stroemple made a layup. Niagara led the Vikings 33-20 going into the half. The Vikings came back within 10 points of the lead in the third quarter, but the Purple Eagles kept up their offensive momentum. With three minutes remaining, Baughman made another 3-pointer to give Niagara a 43-34 advantage. Corselli sank a three with a little over a minute remaining and Rampado scored two with about 30 seconds left in the third quarter to put the Purple Eagles ahead 50-34 going into the fourth quarter. Corselli and Baughman both made threes within the first two minutes of the fourth quarter to put the Purple Eagles ahead of the Vikings, 56-40. Two consecutive baskets from Rampado gave Niagara a twenty-point lead, 60-40, and Niagara continued to dominate the Vikings for the remainder of the game.

The Purple Eagles open conference play, hosting Monmouth on Dec. 2 at 7:00 p.m. and Rider on Dec. 4 at 2:00 p.m.
