Following a men’s victory last weekend over Colgate University, the Canisius swimming and diving teams will face rival St. Bonaventure at 11 a.m. Sunday from the Burt Flickinger Center.

The men’s team got its third win of the season last week giving the Golden Griffins a 3-1 record to begin the season, while the women’s team has gone 1-3 to date.

Last week’s race was highlighted by Tommy Kirch who won the 50 and 100 yard freestyle, while also being a part of the first place 400 yard freestyle relay.

Winning by a 69 point margin, the men also saw a strong performance from Greg Staebell, who won the 100 and 200 yard backstroke events.

The women’s side saw two first place finishes from Marissa Watroba in the 100 and 200 yard breastroke, while Hannah Graesser placed first in the 50 yard freestyle.

When the two teams squared off last season the men were defeated 135-107, while the women fell 156-83.

The men will look to continue their strong play of late, with the meet tomorrow morning against the Bonnies before hosting Binghamton Nov. 19 for the team’s senior day.
