D’Youville College, Niagara University, and the University at Buffalo were among 130 four-year schools nationwide listed as “Best for Vets” by Military Times.

Niagara County Community College and Monroe Community College made the considerably shorter list of two-year schools. Only 25 were chosen.

To be considered, colleges had to fill out an exhaustively detailed, roughly 150-question survey. Military Times evaluated institutions based on their survey responses as well as on data collected by three different federal agencies.

As in years past, competition to make the list was intense, and most colleges that filled out the survey didn’t make the cut.
