BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The University at Buffalo volleyball team opened its final regular season weekend on Friday night, losing at Bowling Green 3-0.

The Falcons took the match 26-24, 25-15, 25-14 as they hit .410 for the night, opposed to .228 for UB.  The Bulls hit .483 in the opening set as it was tight throughout before the Falcons came away with the 26-24 win and then BG rolled in the second and third sets.

Junior Cassie Shado had nine kills and just two errors as she hit .538, while freshman Rachel Sanks had eight kills and just one errors.  Sophomore Megan Wernette added seven kills. Freshman Scout McLerran finished the evening with 26 assists and a service ace.

Defensively, freshman Hannah Watson recorded 10 digs, while Maddie Torbeck had seven and McLerran added five.


UB closes out the regular season at 5 p.m. Saturday at Miami of Ohio.
