After falling behind 2-0 in the match, Canisius volleyball posted three-straight set wins to complete its comeback bid over Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe, Quinnipiac on Sunday afternoon. With the win Canisius improves to 7-18 overall and 5-11, while Quinnipiac drops to 19-11 and 11-6 in conference action.

The Bobcats opened up fast in the contest, recording set wins in the first two frames, 25-16 and 25-17, as the Griffs headed to the intermission down, 2-0.

However Canisius battled back, reeling off three-straight set wins, 25-23,  25-23 and 16-14, to stun the second-place Bobcats, 3-2.

On a day that the team celebrated its three seniors, all-three players proved to have key contributions. Katlyn Tyler and Jacklyn Malusa led the way offensively, with 16 kills and 13 kills, respectively. Freshman Carly Shifflet also recorded double-figure kills with 11.

Meanwhile fellow senior Gabrielle Vetere recorded a career-match in her final home contest, recording a career-high seven kills and two blocks to aid the Canisius effort.

Cassidy Ceriani posted her 14th double-double of the season, as she recorded 45 assists and 13 digs, while Tyler led the way with 20 digs  as she recorded her own double-double.

Quinnipiac had five players reach double-digits in kills with Natalie Alechko pacing the team. Freshman Maria Pansari had 50 assists, while Alechko also led in digs with 14.

While the Griffs have officially wrapped up its home schedule, the Blue and Gold will head out on the road, looking to play the role of spoiler, for two final matches. Canisius plays Iona on Nov. 12 and Manhattan on Nov. 13, both matches at 1 p.m.
