NEW YORK — Rowan handed Buffalo State a straight-sets loss, 25-18, 25-18 and 25-17 today on the opening day of the New York Region Challenge hosted by NYU.
Lauren Hansen (Blue Point/Bayport Blue Point) had five kills and two blocks for Buffalo State.
Katherine Marte (Ithaca/Ithaca) finished with 17 assists, 11 digs and two aces. Dana Mancuso (Kenmore/Kenmore West) and Riley Chapman (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) added four kills each.
Rowan finished with 53 kills, compared to 29 by the Bengals. The Profs also posted seven blocks, against two by Buffalo State.
Buffalo State will wrap up its season Saturday with matches against Montclair State and NYU at 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. respectively.
