NEW HAVEN, CT – The University at Buffalo women’s tennis team played its singles matches at the ITA Northeast Regionals on Saturday, picking up a second round win.

Junior Tanja Stojanovska, who received a first round bye, won her opening match on Saturday against Elizabeth Zordani from Yale, 6-7 (7), 6-2, 7-5.  Stojanovska then moved into the third round where she fell 6-4, 6-0 to Lexi Borr of Boston College, who is the overall fifth seed in the tournament.

Sophomore Chantal Martinez Blanco lost her second round match to Andrea Kevakian 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 after moving into the second after a first round victory yesterday.

With singles play completed for UB, the Bulls will now turn their attention to doubles action as Stojanovska and senior Margarita Kotok will look to continue their run on Sunday morning.
