BUFFALO — The University at Buffalo’s swimming and diving team announced the addition of Eliana “Ellie” Goldman to the team today. Ellie became a part of the team through a non-profit organization named Team IMPACT.

Ellie is a five-year old from Clarence and has been fighting cystic fibrosis since birth, and undergoes a variety of treatments to combat the disease. Team IMPACT offers kids with life threatening or chronic illnesses to become a part of a college team in order to combat their ailments in a psychological way. Ellie was matched with the swimming and diving team, and has been an inspiration to the team since her arrival.

On Friday, Ellie officially signed her “National Letter of Intent” to become a part of the team. She will be poolside cheering on the team throughout the season. Ellie is excited to be a part of the team, and she hasn’t stopped saying “Go Bulls” since the letter was signed.

The Bulls open up their 2016-2017 campaign on Saturday, October 22nd in the Alumni Arena Natatorium at 1 p.m. versus Cornell. Ellie will be there cheering on her new team!
