BUFFALO — After playing eight of their last nine matches on the road, the University at Buffalo men’s soccer team returns to UB Stadium on Friday night as they play host to the Western Michigan Broncos at 7:00 pm. Three of the Bulls final four matches will be played at the friendly confines of UB Stadium.

The Bulls are coming off of their most impressive victory of the season on Saturday night as they were able to take down the West Virginia Mountaineers, 2-1, on the road. The win over West Virginia was UB’s second straight in the series but just their first win in program history in Morgantown. Buffalo received a pair of header goals from Tommy Fogarty-Cameron and Scott Doney as they won their ninth match of the season, the most matches they have won since 2008 when they won 12.

The UB offense is led by senior captain Russell Cicerone who continues to lead the NCAA in points with 30 as he has collected 11 goals and eight assists.With his assist in the win over West Virginia, Cicerone now sits at 99 career points as he looks to become just the second UB player and third player in MAC history to rack up at least 100 career points.

Fellow senior Braden Scales has collected five goals and one assist for 11 points while freshman Rikard Lindqvist has notched three goals and five assists for 11 points. In goal, Joseph Kuta has collected nine wins while owning a 0.98 goals-against average and seven clean sheets. The backline of Alec Fisher, Fox Slotemaker, David Enstrom and Austin Place have continued to help Kuta out all season long as the UB defense only allows 12.5 shots/game.

The Wester Michigan Broncos enter Friday’s match with a 8-4-3 overall record to go along with a 1-0-1 MAC mark after tying Bowling Green, 1-1, on Saturday night. The Broncos are being led offensively by Brandon Bye who has notched eight goals and five assists for 21 points while Edu Jimenez ranks second on the squad with three goals and four assists for 10 points. Jay McIntosh and Diego Lopez have each netted three goals on the year. In goal, Drew Sheppard has earned 15 starts while owning a 8-4-3 record to go along with a 0.78 goals-against average and six shutouts.

After Friday night’s match, the Bulls will play host to Northern Illinois on Oct. 28 at 7 p.m. and Oral Roberts, Senior Day, on Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. The Bulls wrap up their regular season on the road at Bowling Green on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.
