BUFFALO — The Buffalo State women’s soccer team moved up one spot after its 2-0 run last week and now sits a program-best 22nd in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Poll released today.

Buffalo State also remained third in the East region, trailing just William Smith (14-0-0) and Stevens Institute of Technology (13-0-0).

William Smith was named the No. 1 team in Division III for the second time this season with Williams College, Trinity University (Texas), Thomas More and Stevens Institute of Technology rounding out the top five.

The Bengals are winners of nine straight and currently sit in first place in the SUNYAC with a record of 12-1-2 overall and a perfect 7-0 mark in conference play.

Buffalo State will clinch the top seed in the conference with a win in either of its final regular season games this weekend.  The Bengals have already secured a first-round bye in the SUNYAC playoffs.

Buffalo State hosts Oneonta on Friday at 3 p.m. and will welcome New Paltz to Coyer Field on Saturday at 4 p.m.

The Bengals haven’t lost a regular-season match to a conference opponent since Nov. 5, 2014.
