The Buffalo State women’s soccer team made program history today after it was announced that the Bengals were ranked No. 23 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America National Poll, the highest ranking the Bengals have received in team history.

Buffalo State also moved up from fifth to third in the East region, trailing just William Smith (12-0-0) and Stevens Institute of Technology (11-0-0).

William Smith was named the No. 1 team in Division III with Williams College, Trinity University (Texas), Thomas More and Stevens Institute of Technology rounding out the top five.

Buffalo State is the winner of seven-straight and currently sits in first place in the SUNYAC with a record of 10-1-2 overall, and a perfect 5-0-0 in conference play.

The Bengals have two big tests on the road this weekend against Plattsburgh and Potsdam.  Buffalo State takes on Plattsburgh on Friday at 3 p.m. followed by a match at Potsdam on Saturday at 1 p.m.
