The Niagara University men’s and women’s tennis teams will play in their first dual match of the season against the Daemen Wildcats.

The Niagara men are coming off from competing at the Rocket Invitational in Toledo, Ohio last weekend, where the doubles team of Josh Wilson and Felipe Fuentes was selected as the doubles MVP. The pair went 2-2 with wins over Case Western and Detroit. Fuentes and Francis Nadeau also picked up wins in singles play.

The Niagara women have played in one invitational this fall, competing in the UB Invite, where Stella Peisakhova claimed the singles consolation title in the A flight. After falling to Toledo’s Sidnay Huck in three sets, Peisakhova bounced back with two wins. She defeated Wright State’s Elain Cloern, 1-6, 6-5, 10-7, to advance to the final where she outlasted Toledo’s Colleen O’Brien, 6-3, 3-6, 1-0(7).

The Daemen men have played in one dual match this season (a loss to Fairmont State), while the women are 2-5 on the season and 0-3 in East Coast Conference matches.
