DALLAS, Pa.— Buffalo State surrendered just nine total shots, but host Misericordia made the most of its limited opportunities, converting five shots on goal into a 3-0 victory to claim the title in its own tournament.

The Cougars jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals in the 26th and 40th minutes, then put the game out of reach with an insurance marker in the 80th minute.

The Cougars outshot Buffalo State 9-5 for the game, and had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks. Taylor Carillo (Pine Bush/Pine Bush) made two saves in the loss.

The setback marked just the second loss for the Bengals in the last 21 games dating back to last season.
