BUFFALO —  Bass Sarr (New York/JREC) returned to the lineup after missing Buffalo State’s first two games to score two goals and add an assist in the Bengals’ 4-0 shutout win over Medaille College Tuesday afternoon at Coyer Field.

Despite Buffalo State controlling much of the play in the early going, the game was scoreless until the 41st minute when Maissa Dieye (New York/Manhattan International) chipped in a cross from Sarr to give the Bengals a 1-0 lead. The Bengals came out just as strong in the second half, and were rewarded when Sarr found the back of the net for his first goal of the game just 15 minutes into the second period.

Tristan Myers (Rochester/Webster Thomas) extended the lead to 3-0 in the 64th minute after breaking down the left wing and ripping it into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.
The Bengals continued their high pressure attack, and Sarr got himself a penalty kick oppurtunity in the 67th minute.  The sophomore went bar-down and in for his second of the game to make it 4-0 Buffalo State. Goalkeeper William Banahene (Rochester/Brighton) stood tall in net, making four saves en route to his second shutout of the season

Buffalo State will head back on the road, traveling to Fredonia on Friday, Sept. 9 to take on Baldwin Wallace College in its opening game of the Fredonia State Blue Devil Classic.
