COLDEN — An underage Buffalo male was charged Monday with felony counts of criminal possession of a stolen firearm from a case stemming back a year.

According to Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard, detectives arrested the minor in connection with an August 2015 burglary where two hand guns were stolen from a Colden residence.

Deputies had responded to a Colden residence for reports that two handguns were stolen from a gun cabinet during a party at the residence and was reported a week later upon the discovery the guns were missing.

An anonymous tip led detectives to evidence which identified a suspect and the possible whereabouts of the guns. The Buffalo Police Department executed a search warrant at a Rhode Island Street address where one of the stolen handguns was recovered.

The defendant was arraigned in Town of Colden Justice Court and released into the custody of his mother.
